The High Line is an old railroad turned park. You'll find this "pubic green space" elevated above the streets of Chelsea, with temporary art installations, small vendors, and occasional events or programs. It runs from Gansevoort Street to West 34th Street. With its groundbreaking ceremony in 2012, you've probably seen every one of your friends who has ever visited New York here.
Recommendations:
Start around 20th Street - stair access on 20th, elevator access on 23rd - and work your way down the street numbers! Between 16th and 17th, there's a nice sitting area sitting above 10th Ave. where you can people watch too. This installation is one of my favorites along the park. Walking for blocks on blocks can get boring which is why I say to start around 20th until Gansevoort, then head to Chelsea Market or one of the restaurants in the area.
Time:
20min - however long you desire
THINGS TO EAT
Levain Bakery
Recommendations:
Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookie - Best when fresh, 1 whole cookie is too sweet for me so I usually split 1/2 a cookie and get coffee to cut through the chocolate.

I can say with confidence, Doughnut Plant's crème brûlée doughnut is the best I've ever had. With almost 3,000 reviews and 4.5 stars on Yelp, Doughnut Plant deserves all the love and attention it's already gotten.
